Ken McMeans is the founding member of Stereo Chickens, playing guitar and singing. Ken is known throughout the country music industry as an agent and/or manager to many major artists, having represented acts like Jo Dee Messina, Bryan White, Lila McCann Meghan Linsey and Juice Newton. As an artist and writer, his songs have been heard on TV shows like ABC’s ‘General Hospital’. As a songwriter, he has been nominated for numerous industry awards and had his songs picked up by artists such as Linda Ronstadt, Kim Carnes, Joe Cocker, and John Waite.
Mandolinist/vocalist/songwriter Tom Walters started his unique musical journey cutting vinyl with fellow college alumnus Weird Al Yankovic, going on to share the stage with such artists as Country Joe McDonald, Maria Muldaur, Jerry Douglas, and others. His first international release for Eagle Records in Nashville was with the duo Iverson and Walters. He is also an award winning movie director. His recent documentary film “Botso”, was the “Critics’ Pick” of the New York Times.
Cynthia Ford joined Stereo Chickens with the departure of longtime member Elizabeth McMeans in the spring of 2017. In addition to her talents as a vocalist, she also plays numerous instruments and brought congas into the group for the first time. She has spent a lifetime playing music as well as acting in the theater. She sings across the musical spectrum-from R & B to hard rock to country.
Stereo Chickens have opened for and/or shared the stage with many of Country and Americana’s top artists and writers including Love & Theft, Bryan White, Lila McCann, Billy Gilman, Michael Peterson, Scotty Emerick, Blue County, Dean Sams (Lonestar), Sarah Darling, Travis Meadows, Bob Livingston (Lost Gonzo Band), Meghan Linsey (Steel Magnolia), Jesse Keith Whitley, Keith Anderson, Jamie O’Neal, Katie Armiger, Hannah Blaylock (Edens Edge), and Scott Reeves (‘Nashville’).
Stereo Chickens are frequent performers at wineries, acoustic venues and state and county fairs and festivals across North America.
